Hello my name Kelly Humphrey I'm raising money for my husbands legal defense, fees and expenses incurred from the untimely loss of his position as Sergeant for Union County Sheriff Department. Many have reached out and asked how we they could help so I started this to at least help with immediate financial issues and help pay for his defense.

He has worked for Union County as Sheriff Deputy for this summer would've been 20 years. Many may recognize him because he was the school resource officer (SRO) for Porter Ridge Middle School and most recently for Porter Ridge High School for the past 10 years. His two daughters are also graduates of Porter Ridge Middle and Highschool. He worked all this kids basketball and football games, band events and graduations to make sure every child/student was safe while participating in their extra-curricular activities and Porter Ridge which today is a very necessary position.

After 20 years of working as a Deputy and never even having any disciplinary action or complaints against him he was finally promoted to Sergeant this past January. He was then moved from the school to the jail as a requirement of this promotion. He planned to go back to the SRO division after this stint working at the jail required by Sheriff Caffie. I won't go into the details of why or how he was fired from the Sheriff office as he is still going through court proceedings but he was charged with a Class H Felony and thanks to Union County Sheriff office you can read about it on their Facebook page. I will say this if you know my husband you know he has a big heart and genuinely cares about people. He has always been a rule follower and always taken his oath to protect and serve the community of Union County extremely serious.

When he was arrested and fired they refused to give him his sick pay which was 600+ hours he rarely took sick time and he also had around 230+ vacation time they also are refusing to pay him.

Thank you to everyone who has supported him during this I have never seen so much support from a community but I'm not surprised its for my husband. I guess everyone sees what I see as well.
