Bring Original Music Back to Castleford!

Castleford was once home to a thriving live music scene. Home to The Lion and now demolished Crimea & Black Bull. A place where upcoming bands could find their voice and audiences could discover something new and exciting. We believe it’s time to bring that spirit back.

Ign!te Alternative Promotions, with the support of The Sanctum Bar, are working hard to create a dedicated independent music venue in our town. The bar has already opened its doors to IGN!TE with allowing us do Alternative DJ sets upstairs as part of Sanctums now fortnightly 'Heaven & Hell' nights.

Few changes are also underway: fresh décor, plans for a stage, and the energy to make this something truly special.

But to make it work, we need your help.

There wouldn't be any cover bands without Originals.

At first, visiting bands will bring their own PA systems, but our long-term goal is to make the venue equipped with a PA, allowing us to open up to more bands who require a venue with in house gear. To do this, we’re raising funds for:

• ️ A larger mixer with enough channels for live bands

• Additional stage monitors so performers can hear themselves clearly

• A basic lighting rig to make shows look as good as they sound

We already have speakers from our Ign!te DJ nights, but with your support, we can turn this into a true live music hub.

We’ll also be running a “pay what you want” entry scheme at shows to keep live music accessible for everyone, while giving audiences the chance to support artists and the venue.

Every contribution, big or small, will help bring original music back to Castleford — and give our town a stage worthy of the talent it deserves.
