April 15, 2018 will go down as one of the worst days in Jim and Ronee Bradys life.  Honestly, most of the islands life. What started as a regular Sunday morning, ended with a horrific electrical fire , ruining everything that possibly was, West Coast Surf Shop.  The fire has left the shop almost unrecognizable on the inside. Everything is burned, disintegrated, and covered in black soot. We know the shop had insurance. However, we also know insurance doesn’t cover everything, and the question lays in length of time before any monies come their way. Not to mention the months and months of having to be closed, lost wages, and jobless employees. This literally was The Bradys livelihoods.

Jim , opened Florida’s oldest Surf Shop in 1964 ( WCSS) ,  and has become an iconic staple on Anna Maria Island. If you’ve ever been in the Surf Shop .....you are always greeted with Jim stationed by the sunnies ( maybe eating some M&M’s or a chocolate muffin ), and Ronee working her magic behind the counter with her hair always perfectly placed . They are the dynamic duo! I personally worked for Jimbo and Ronee for over 8 years at WCSS, they became my family. Their family mine. I lived on top of the Surf Shop when I was 4 with my mother , Carol Whitmore, for many years .  Everyone who knows them, truly LOVES  them. We are all devastated. As a community we need to come together and show the Bradys we are here for THEM. Everyone has been asking how to help. Unfortunately, we can’t all band together and go in  with our work boots and clean it up. So this Gofund me page is the best alternative!! The Bradys would NEVER ask for this . But, luckily for them , sometimes  others know what’s best  in a time of trauma and uncertainty. This is a time for everyone who wants to do something for them, to  donate in any little way we can. We want to show them the love, and that we are all here for them to help them get through this tragic time. We love you Ronee, Jim, Brandi, Giorgio & Izzi! Long live the old West Coast Surf Shop and here’s to NEW dreams and NEW memories!!! #westcoaststrong
