Hello,

My name is Jasmine Clouser, and I am reaching out to raise funds for the Wessels family.

As a parent, the fear of something terrible happening to our children never leaves us, regardless of their age.

On Tuesday, I received a message from Susan Wessels, the mother of my son's best friend, informing me that her son Chris had suffered cardiac arrest and was in the ICU, in an induced coma.

Chris, at the age of 26, is the epitome of health and fitness. He played baseball with my son in college, and they traveled cross country together to work and live in Orange County. I consider him like a third son and deeply care for him. He is an incredibly kind, caring, and inspiring young man.

I am setting up this GoFundMe campaign to provide financial support for Chris's parents, Susan and Danny, and his sister Grace, who have flown from Maryland to be by Chris's side here in California. They arrived with only carry-on luggage, unsure of how long they would need to stay. Your contributions will go towards their lodging, travel expenses, and daily needs during their indefinite stay in California.

Chris's friends have already set up a GoFundMe campaign for his recovery, and initially, Susan was hesitant for me to create another one, as she didn't want to detract from the fundraising efforts for Chris and his fiancée Samantha. However, I felt a strong calling to help in any way I can. As a mother myself, I cannot fathom the difficulty they are going through, and I want to alleviate some of the financial burden, allowing them to focus on Chris's recovery. It is important to note that they do not expect anyone to contribute to both funds or feel obligated to donate to both. This campaign is solely my effort to support their family and help them feel a little less stressed during this incredibly challenging time, enabling them to concentrate on healing their beautiful son.
