I was recently led to help more, and at first, I thought that meant serving in my local community. I started volunteering, but I felt a desire to do even more. When a friend returned from a mission trip to Peru and shared his passion and experiences, I felt inspired and excited, but also a bit reluctant, wondering if it might be too much for me. Over time, the idea of going on a mission trip kept growing in my heart, especially as I remembered Shane’s words and the impact it had on him.

I attended an information meeting at Action Church, thinking I would be heading to Peru. But as I listened to the missions directors and leaders Gil and Sonya talk about the children in Uganda and the difference we could make, I felt a strong calling to go there instead. Their stories and passion convinced me that Uganda was where I was meant to serve on my first mission trip.

She Is More Than is a 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization committed to restoring the lives of young female survivors of human trafficking and sexual abuse. They believe that every woman deserves to live in freedom and recognize that she is more than sexual injustice.
