As Wesley’s Mamie and Chris’s mom, I never imagined our family would be facing something so difficult nor that I’d be asking for your help through it.

No child should ever have to face cancer—yet at just 6 years old, Wesley is bravely battling Burkitt Lymphoma, a rare and highly aggressive disease.

Chris and Corrie’s world has been turned upside down by this devastating diagnosis. Wesley now faces a long and difficult journey, with over 8 months of intensive treatment ahead. As they adjust to this new reality, their family is being pulled in two directions—one parent staying by Wesley’s side at CHEO, while the other cares for their three children at home.

Chris works in a trade and does not have access to paid leave, making this situation even more challenging. He wants—and needs—to be there for his

little man during this fight, while also supporting Corrie and their other children.
