Wesley Harmon Coming Home Soon
Donation protected
I really hate to feel like we are asking for hand-outs, but since July 11, 2020. Our family has been on a rollercoaster. Here is our story, any help greatly appreciated and especially prayers.
On July 11, our son Wesley T Harmon was in a motorcycle accident. He was airlifted to UK Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, KY. When we made it there, we were informed that he had broken his neck and was currently paralyzed from chest down. Surgery was done the next day. From that day on, he was on ventilator and feeding tube.
Over the next month or so, hospital lost him more than once. We were asked more than once to let him go, cause heart was giving and there was brain damage. We could not give up without proof. He had been in medically induced coma for a few weeks for proning. Drs finally woke him up and EKG was good and he nodded to me that he was not ready to give up. This was all this Momma needed to hear.
Although the road has been long, pneumonia several times, MRSA, Staff, Necrotic Bedsore, etc...He has been here at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, KY for about a month now. They weened him from vent and removed feeding tube. He does have trache and oxygen as needed. For about a week now, he finally was able to speak to all of us, mainly FaceTime, due to Covid-19.
Tomorrow, October 1, 2020, he is being moved to Frazier Rehab here in Louisville. As of right now, mainly feels left hand and arm and from chest up. Praying rehab will help him regain strength and fine motor skills.
Hopefully he will be coming home to his fiance and little girl in about 3 weeks.
Due to us never ever planning on such a situation, we are trying to buy him a handicap accessible van, ramps for home, and just make home accessible. Any amount you give is appreciated. We have already been blessed with so much already from friends, family, and even those we don't know. God Bless
I was informed today that some have issues using the go fund me site. As soon as I ever get back home to West Liberty, I'm going to start an account for Buddy. For now, if you want to send through mail:
