Wesley Clark and his family need prayers, positive healing, strength and love.

 

Wesley broke his femur a week and a half ago and during the examination of his X-rays the doctor noticed some low bone density causing his bone to be more fragile and susceptible to fractures and breaks.  A blood panel was requested to check and look into what may be causing the low bone density. On Friday as the family was preparing for a fun day at Disneyland to celebrate their son Aiden’s 1st birthday they received a concerning call from Wesley's Ortho. The recommendation was to take Wesley to CHOC ER for follow up exams. That night they were admitted and Wesley began to undergo a number of exams including additional X-rays, blood draws, an MRI and had had 3 bone marrow biopsies.

 

On 5/3 Kevin and Lauren received news that no parent should ever have to hear regarding their child. Wesley has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). There are no words for the emotions that their family is experiencing. We wish they could take the pain away and to see their energetic, loud, smart and loving boy running and playing as every 3.5 year old boy should be. He has been asking to "go home" which has been heart breaking.

 

Wesley is receiving care at CHOC from their oncology team and we all know he is in the best of hands on this journey. As the expenses of chemotherapy treatment, procedures, blood infusions and medical bills will be increasing, this road to healing for the family will be long. Lauren most likely will not be able to work so she can give full care for Wesley's treatment. Kevin will be trying to be everywhere he can for everyone while trying to work and also take care of his family. A seemingly impossible task.

 

We are creating this GoFundMe to help assist in easing a little of the financial stress the family is going under. Any dollar amount can help them with the hardships of continuous medical bills, meals for the family once they are home and groceries to help since Wesley will be on a very restrictive and specific diet.

 

Wesley, we love you more than you will ever know. You are strong, brave and a warrior. You can do this and we will be here every step of the way.
