EDIT/UPDATE 2: Wes reached out to unemployment to discuss the status of his application, and got an automated message saying they are backlogged by several weeks. He's going to physically go to the office Monday 08/04/25 to talk to someone in person.
As for bills, well we got a lot of donations here plus some through Venmo/PayPal. As a result we paid all of our bills in June, and July. Now we're just needing some help with August bills. Our August bills are much lower, and fewer as we paid a lot of stuff off as well as caught up on bills with y'alls help.
Bills due this month:
August 8th - Electric - $83.60
August 10th - Water - $124.46
August 10th - Gas - $42.82
August 7th - Affirm - $38.61
August 16th - Affirm - $33.57
August 30th - Affirm - $46.82
August 20th - Garbage (It bills bi monthly) - $173.89
August 30th - State Farm (my mom's car & home insurance) - $200
August 16th - Progressive (our car insurance) - $159.16
August 27th - AT&T (Internet for my mom) - $66
Total - $968.93
This amount will pay everything, and get us through to September at which point hopefully Wes will either have started receiving unemployment or found a new job.
Thank you so much for your continued support in this difficult time.
EDIT/Update 1: Wes was officially dismissed from his job. He is applying for unemployment, and cranking out applications to new jobs daily. In the meantime we do need help. Most of the bills due at the end of June have been paid. Now we just need to cover bills from June 26th - July 10th.
Might need to raise funds for bills after that too, but for now this is all we need. I've outlined each bill, how much it is, what it's for, and which ones are paid below. Thank you for your continued support during this extremely difficult time.
On June 9th, 2025 Wes was finishing up his final steps before dropping his delivery van off at the lot and driving home. It had been extremely hot that day, and dehydration mixed with not enough caloric intake lead to him blacking out behind the wheel.
Thankfully no one, not even Wes, was hurt. The van struck a tree then a fence, and damaged it. The van was damaged, but the company is not asking for compensation on that. Wes contacted his boss, and was taken to the ER. They gave him fluids, and sent him home with a clean bill of health just advising more water as well as more food. He jumped through all of the hoops his job required of him, but they still have not allowed him back to work.
They said the main company they deliver for is investigating the incident, and they are not sure when they will make a decision. While Wes is not at fault for the accident, and no one was hurt it's still an accident so they have to take it seriously. Wes has been out of work since June 9th, and while we're pretty sure he's got at least one more paycheck coming this Thursday (June 26th) we don't anticipate it being a lot as they had lots of days with cancelled routes that he (and others) was then sent home without any hours paid.
Wes is applying for unemployment hoping they approve him as he was just let go from his previous employer in April (with less than two weeks notice the owner retired, and everyone got laid off) 2025, and has only worked at this new place for less than two months.
He is also applying to any/every job he can find hoping something comes along as we have no idea if they are going to even continue employing him once they do finish the investigation. In the meantime we are scrambling to make sure we can cover bills for the next four weeks. The funds from this will go directly to pay the bills outlined below. So you know where your donation is going I've detailed due dates, and amounts.
We've had to split payments on some bills so you might see Electric on there twice, and that's why. The only thing I can't give an exact estimate on is food. I'm good as I get SNAP at the start of July, but Wes can't use my SNAP and I use it to make sure I am getting the nutrition I need that we can't afford otherwise. So the food amount is an estimate only.
Please give what you can if you can (please do not put yourself in a bind), and if you can or can't donate either way please share this fundraiser to friends/family across social media platforms. You can also like the fundraiser to increase the views it gets on the main GoFundMe page. Total amount we're asking to raise includes any fees GFM takes from each donation before payout.
Thank you for reading, for liking, sharing, and donating. I will update this frequently so make sure to select yes on updates if you donate.
