Pectus or chest wall deformities effect a LOT of people with over 200,000 cases per year in the U.S.
In most of these cases, surgery is covered under insurance. Unfortunately, mine is not.
I have spent many years and thousands of dollars just trying to manage symptoms after being told I couldn't be covered for a surgical repair.
While I'm somewhat able to manage my pain and other symptoms, this only gets worse with age.
I'm traveling to Germany next month to have the repair done for much cheaper (still astronomically expensive) than the U.S. and by a surgeon more experienced than anyone in the states.
By some miracle, I've managed to pay for the surgery itself, but now have a huge amount of debt and will be out of work for months.
This situation has consumed my life for as long as I can remember and anything you can give will make this a much less taxing process of recovery.
This campaign is solely to help me with cost of living for the several months I'll be out of work. Thanks in advance.
