On Saturday, Aug. 12 2023 my older brother Wes was riding his motorcycle to the store when he was struck by a vehicle. After a few days in the hospital, his injuries have amounted to a broken fibula, a lisfranc break in his foot and some broken toes. He is awaiting surgery and will see a foot specialist in the next few days. For anyone who may not know, Wes is a commercial diver which is a very physically demanding job. He is also the main provider for his family, his wife Jenna and two children Rayne and River (5 and 2). It is unknown when he will return to work, and as I learned just over a year ago, no one prepares for a situation like this.
