Wes Burns

UPDATE: Wes is being kept comfortable. It breaks my heart to tell you all that he will not be coming home. He is currently receiving comfort care at Grants Pass as we wait for a bed to open up at the hospice in Yreka. I apologize to anyone who has not heard to have to find out this way. We’ve been doing our best to keep everyone in the loop but it is overwhelming as so many love Wes. 

My father in law, Wes Burns, has been in ICU for over a week now. After 3 weeks of fighting Covid at home, he was taken by ambulance to our local hospital where they discovered that he not only had pneumonia from covid but had also developed a blood clot in his heart. He was transferred to a hospital in Oregon. He developed another blood clot in his arm, suffered a heart attack, required surgery on his arm, was intubated and kept sedated for several days. They have been able to take him off the ventilator and he is now awake. It is possible he has also suffered a stroke and will need an MRI to confirm. Wes doesn’t have insurance and being out of work has put a financial strain on him and my mother in law, Tammy. Being that the hospital is 1 1/2 hour drive, the gas and food is also adding up. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated. I will do my best to keep everyone updated.
