Werly's Poultry: an entrepreneur in Cange, Haiti

Donation protected
Jean Werly lives in a simple home in CANGE, Haiti (a very impoverished part of the Central Plateau where unemployment is very high) with his parents, two brothers and a sister. Since completing  secondary school a couple of years ago, he has been studying English and businesses administration and is looking for business opportunities to help support his family and give back to the community.

He has developed a plan to raise chickens near his home to produce healthy protein options for the people in his part of Haiti. He can sell eggs fairly soon after getting his first chicks, and then can pay for more feed and supplies until chickens are big enough to sell. He has also indicated that he can easily scale up from his initial 700-chicken plan. His goal is to have a business where he can raise poultry to supply local houses, businesses and schools with local and affordable products. As his business grows he will also be able to also employ local people.

For those who have visited the hospital in Cange, you will remember Werly as the young man who made and sold bracelets with your name on them. He is a natural  entrepreneur,  so this funding will not go to waste!
