We’re raising funds to help support Sovera.

Our hearts are aching in this trying time. Thank you to all who have reached out and continue to support Sovera with your love, kindness, care and friendship. It means the world to her and to all of us as we grapple with her fate and absorb these multiple precious losses of our family.

We’re raising funds on behalf of our amazing daughter, sister, friend and colleague, Godmother, and Cat Mom, Sovera Nourn, to satisfy healthcare expenses and fulfill her final wishes. Sovera would like to be ceremoniously remembered at sea and we would like to further her legacy of positivity, kindness, love and compassion with additional gifts to those pursuing these aims.

Having had grown up in Long Beach and living in beach towns like Santa Cruz and Hermosa Beach for much of her adult life, the ocean has become a cherished part of who she is. Lounging in the sand under the summer sun, taking surf lessons, and going on breezy bicycle rides around town are all memories that continue to fill her heart with joy.

In mid October 2023, Sovera was hospitalized and diagnosed with an aggressive stage 4b Mullerian Ovarian Cancer. She bravely faced the diagnosis and exhausted all options of modern treatment. However, she ultimately opted for optimizing quality of life and sustaining her remaining time in peace in comfort care surrounded by loved ones.
