Weogufka Volunteer Fire Department has suffered a catastrophic loss of our only Fire Truck due to a terrible single vehicle accident. Thankfully our firefighter involved didn’t sustain any life threatening injuries. Thoughts and prayers are requested for him.

Our truck didn’t fair so well. It is a total loss. We are insured thankfully but we have deductibles that have to be met and equipment that must be replaced and while insurance does reduce the burden there is still auxiliary equipment that will have to be replaced. We are a small rural department that gets just enough funding to barely keep above water and rely on fundraisers to supplement the meager funds we do receive.

We are relying on surrounding departments to assist us until we have weathered this storm. We are only operating with a single rescue truck and brush truck.

We are asking for any help anyone can spare to help us get back on our feet.
