Wendy's Spinal Cord Injury

Hi, my name is Lauren and I am a friend of Crystal. On Christmas Day, her mom had a terrible fall and was found to have, among other injuries, a devastating spinal cord injury at C3, paralyzing her from the neck down. She has had neck surgery and is recovering at Grady Hospital with a plan to send her to a rehab facility. The eventual hope is that she will regain some strength and movement and be able to come home. Her Caringbridge site will be updated regularly with her progress.

Because she has no use of her hands, she is really helped by having her family by her side every day in the ICU for things as simple as scratching an itch or giving her a drink of water as well as keeping her morale up. Her four kids are planning on rotating this as much as possible, but are having to take off work to do so. This GoFundMe page is to help offset travel costs, daily hospital parking costs, medical equipment needed for Wendy that's not covered by insurance, and eventual need for hired help when she comes home.
