Wendy's leukaemia treatment expenses

As you all know I have been going through some significant treatments for blood cancer since 2020.

I am once again heading to Melbourne for two more rounds of chemo therapy. This will be a 4-5 month process.

We are also hoping that Peter Mac can provide a new treatment called Car-t therapy. This is a new treatment that is having some very positive results.

On previous occasions Leukemia Australia have been incredibly generous providing accommodation free of charge.

Sadly on this occasion it may not be the case and they may only be able to partially find private accommodation. This means we have to cover part of the accommodation costs ourselves. Also normal living expenses are higher in Melbourne and our two families still have normal expenses.

My brother and I will be staying in Melbourne for up to five months. Initially I will be an inpatient having treatment. Recovery and ongoing monitoring will be required.

Given that Leukemia Australia may only be able to partially cover accommodation costs I am reaching out for help.

Also given the additional living costs that we ( Ricky and myself) will have living away from home we are asking for help.

I don’t know how much we will need to cover costs but are hoping that friends and family may be able to help. Any donation will assist.

I can ensure that only costs associated with living away from our homes will be used and any surplus at the end of my treatment will be donated back to Leukemia Australia.

Full transparency will be used and accounts kept of any spending.
