We want to thank everyone for their prayers of support so far in Wendy's cancer journey. She has gone through several rounds of chemo, then was ready for surgery last Thursday, which was performed successfully at the Phoenix Mayo Clinic. A certain number of days spent in the hospital was expected. Unfortunately, in the middle of the night yesterday, she was rushed into emergency surgery after an unsafe rise in temperature and fear of infection. During this surgery, she was found to be septic. After this surgery, she did show signs of improvement. However, today, due to continued fear of infection, she underwent exploratory surgery (surgery #3 in less than a week), during which they were able to correct an issue that may have contributed to the infection. She is currently in the ICU. The expenses are adding up. If you're reading this, you know that Mike and Wendy are not ones to ask for help. In fact, they're usually the ones offering help to others--which is part of the reason so many people love them.
"You need a place to stay when you come up north? Just stay with us!"
"You need someone to watch your kids for a while? We're happy to help!"
Sound familiar? They're helpers.
Many people have asked if they can help, and so far our family has asked for prayers, but for those who asked to do more we wanted to have a centralized place to do that. Please do not feel obligated to give in any way. We are so appreciative of all the prayer warriors across the country right now and the continued love we all feel for our mother and father.
