In 2024, our mom, Wendy Rice, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has already undergone surgery to remove the tumor, but her fight isn’t over. She now faces four months of chemotherapy and radiation to reduce the risk of the cancer returning.

As a dedicated homecare physical therapist in Philadelphia, Wendy has spent her career helping others regain their strength and independence. But now, she needs our support. Due to the physical toll of treatment, she is unable to work for the next few months. And because she is a part-time employee, she is ineligible for medical leave, leaving her without income during this critical time.

On top of everyday necessities like rent, utilities, and food, Wendy is facing significant out-of-pocket medical expenses. She also lives alone, with most of her family across the country in Florida, and must cover transportation costs to and from the hospital for her chemo treatments.
