Wendy Bass GIST Cancer Fund

Wendy (Wedua) Bass grew up in Riverside, Missouri and was a former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader.  She pursued a career in the airlines and marketing.  Wendy had a large GIST tumor removed from her stomach in 2008 and thought they got it all.  She lost her previous husband to a terrible brain cancer in 2010.  2 weeks ago symptoms with balance and other issues appeared.  After spending a week in emergency rooms and the hospital and many tests - it was confirmed the GIST cancer is back on her liver and tumors on the brain.  The medical bills are skyrocketing as you can imagine.  Doctor's have told us surgery and chemotherapy are not options or effective against this type of cancer.  GIST is an extremely rare type of cancer and not many clinical trials are available.  Treatment will be radiation on the brain and Gleevec to hopefully halt the spread of the cancer.  All funds will go to medical bills that are not covered by insurance.  PLEASE if you suffer from this type of cancer contact us to tell us your story and share your treatments.  Thank you!!!
