Wendy and Allen Bonner

My name is LaRue Wooten and I have been friends with the OG "krackmama" Wendy Bonner for 10 years. She has worked for the Jones County School System for almost 20 years. Wendy taught me everything I know about school nutrition, managing, and being a good person to others. She is always there to help anyone and never asks for anything in return. Wendy had a freak accident while she and her family were on vacation in Daytona. She stepped off a curb, twisted her leg, and fell face-first on the ground. Hit her chin so hard that her neck snapped back and broke off several bone spurs in her neck. As a result, she has had to have emergency surgery where they mounted 2 rods and several pins in her neck. Wendy has not regained movement in her arms and legs. She is able to respond to some stimuli but at this time she can only move 1 toe. Allen is there with her and will stay there until she comes home for rehab. They are estimating that she will need 4-6 weeks of in-facility rehabilitation once she is able to be transported back to Georgia. This has been an emotional and anxious time for them as they do not know what tomorrow brings.
