Wendi Traynor Memorial Scholarship

Raising $50,000 to establish a memorial educational scholarship in the name of Wendi Marie Anderson Traynor at Eastside Catholic High School.

As many of you all have heard, we lost our beloved daughter, niece, sister, cousin, friend and classmate Wendi Marie Anderson Traynor. Wendi was a cheerful, spirited and loving 25 year-old with a bright future ahead of her. Her life was taken way too soon and nothing can replace the damage that has been inflicted upon her family and friends. We pray that justice is served and all of our questions may be answered.

Wendi was a graduate of Eastside Catholic High School and Central Washington University, and to honor her legacy, I along with the entire Traynor/Anderson family have decided to set up a memorial educational scholarship fund at Eastside Catholic High School so that her name can live on and help a future Crusader graduate just like herself.

Our goal, in order to set up the scholarship fund is $20, 000. Please, any size donation will help no matter how close you were to Wendi and the Traynor/Anderson family. We are determined to reach this goal so that Wendi's legacy can live on forever.

The mission statement for this scholarship is stated below:

Our Mission is to bring awareness to high school students about the early warning signs of domestic violence.

Through education the annual award of a scholarship is to be given to a graduating Senior from Eastside Catholic High School from the Wendi Marie Anderson Traynor Memorial Scholarship which is to be used for college tuition/expenses. It is our hope that these young adults will forge ahead in life with the knowledge of the various and numerous signs of domestic violence.

Our daughter, Wendi, did not receive this specific education.  She ended up in an abusive relationship thinking that the treatment she received, the verbal abuse and threats, were normal.  We want to change this way of thinking amongst our young adults.  Any form of domestic violence is not normal and should never be tolerated.

Unfortunately, Wendi was murdered by a so called “boyfriend” when she was trying, once again, to end their relationship.  Wendi was only 25 years of age; taken from us way too soon because of domestic violence.

Eastside Catholic School has a trust account set-up to hold the funds on behalf of the Wendi Marie Anderson Traynor Memorial Scholarship.  They will handle the bookkeeping and award the funds annually.  In Wendi’s memory and on behalf of the Wendi Marie Anderson Traynor Memorial Scholarship, each year we will be choosing the best qualified graduating Senior from Eastside Catholic High School, to receive the scholarship.
