The Wendi Miller Legacy Project

My name is Cooper and I'm fundraising to honor my parent Wendi Miller. For 50 years she served the Pittsburgh arts community as a picture framer who never let someone's economic status hinder their creative spirit. She was also a human rights advocate that in the mid 1990s helped usher the law that prevents housing and job discrimination of transgendered people in the city. She turned her frame shop into a transitional housing for transgender refugees and for may successful years the frame shop was operated by only trans-women. She passed away on April, 6th 2023, two days before she was honored by the City Council with a proclamation of her contributions to the city.
