Wendel Wayne Quan

Hello my name is Iliya Ahmadi-Jafari one of Wendel's best friends,  As most of you may have already heard, Wendel Wayne Quan has recently passed away at the young age of 25 years old. 

Wendel had been on a six month long vacation in  Foshan, China where he was expecting to return near the end of March 2020. Unfortunately he had been stuck in a quarantined in Foshan unable to do the hobbies & recreational activities such as Weight Lifting & Calisthenics that he would normally to do make him happy &
keep his mental health healthy. 

We were all shocked to find out that he had suffered an accidental fall from the hotel building he was staying at in China. At first we had speculated that it was possibly a suicide, but after the police investigation & his family & brother had investigated the incident, It had been made clear by the police & everyone involved in the investigation that this was NOT a suicide & that it was an accidental fall.

Wendel,  being the curious adventurous person he was had climbed up to this rooftop section above his hotel room in which he would enjoy his last few weeks of his time in China, enjoying some alcoholic & non alcoholic beverages up there by himself with nothing else to do because of the Quarantine Lock down in the city he was staying in.

On the night of his death, after having a few drinks, & becoming slightly intoxicated. He had been trying to climb back down to his hotel room. It was dark & weather conditions weren't very good & he ended up falling on his way back down. 

He was in critical condition with internal bleeding & he later died at the hospital :(

It is with great sadness & a hurt soul that I write this, Wendel was the best friend a person could ask for, he loved his family, he loved his friends, he loved being
there for his friends & family & helping them even if it meant going out of his way to help someone. He was always the person you could rely on & could count on
when you were in trouble. 

It is very rare to find someone with a personality so caring, loving, friendly and      non judgmental like Wendel was. He truly was an inspiration to his friends & was often compared to Legends like Bruce Lee, His commitment, dedication &
expertise in Weight Lifting, Calisthenics & the gym was unparalleled. I had never met anyone who was so consistent with his efforts, & who made such an amazing body transformation naturally without the use of performance enhancing drugs. 

Everyone who was fortunate enough to meet Wendel loved him & realized what a special & truly genuine person he was, he will never be forgotten, he will always
live on in our hearts & he will always be a great role model for me & I will make
sure to teach my children to act and live like Wendel did, to be compassionate,
empathetic,  & to help your friends & family without expecting anything in return. 

Wendel's passing came as a shock to everyone & his family has been left hurt 
emotionally & financially is in need of help to cover the unexpected expenses. 
Written below are some of the expenses, there are other expenses they are
going to have to pay for as well. Wendel did not have travel insurance when he went to China so his medical bills from the hospital he was at were not covered.

Funeral/Memorial

The Quan family has decided that any leftover money from donations received on this Go fund me Campaign will be donated to the BC Children's Hospital.  

Wendel Quan actually had donated his long hair to the Children's Hospital in the past before his passing. So we have decided that we will be donating the rest of
the money received to the Children's Hospital as another way of honoring him,
and helping out the children & families in need of help & the hospital & staff that
helps these families.

Thank you in advance to everyone who is going to donate & help this family that is distraught & still traumatized & healing from what happened. It is very sad to have to be thinking about finances when someone in your family dies but that's the sad reality of life, You never expect these things to happen so your not prepared if a tragedy such as this occurs.
