Hello, my name is Shaimaa Abu Hadaid.

I have been married for four and a half years. After some time, I gave birth to my son Adam, and later I was blessed with twin daughters, Ilana and Ivona. We were a very happy family.

However, just a week after their birth, we discovered that Ilana had serious health issues affecting her breathing and ribcage. We immediately began fighting to get her the medical care she needed. Then, the war broke out — and that’s when my true suffering began.

I lost my beloved daughter Ivona. The pain was unbearable, and it felt as though life had stopped. Her twin sister, Ilana, also fell seriously ill and spent a full month in the hospital. Since then, all our focus has been on Ilana’s fragile health, which demands continuous medical care and costly treatments.

Under extremely harsh conditions, with no income for my husband and relying solely on aid, we have struggled to survive. We have reached out to many for help, but our pleas often go unheard.

Today, I learned that there are kind hearts in the world — people who hear the cries of others and share their pain. This has given me hope, and I decided to reach out to you.
