Help Nico Get Top Surgery

Hi my name is Nico (they/them) and I’m a transgender artist living in the Metro-Detroit area. I have dealt with gender dysphoria as well as body dysmorphia for most of my life.
In the spring of 2019 I met with a plastic surgeon to have my breasts removed. Unfortunately, I was talked out of a full mastectomy by my surgeon and my family. I settled for a breast reduction surgery.
The surgery was slated for July 31, 2019. The operation went smoothly. However, I left to go to school in Arizona within a week of my operation.
While I was in Arizona, my body rejected the sutures. My breasts split open, exposing bare breast tissue and nerve endings. I consulted with my plastic surgeon, who said that I could either wait for the wounds to heal on their own, or I could come back to Michigan for a second operation. I chose to stay in Arizona, not wanting to miss any classes and believing that my wounds would heal in the next couple of weeks.
The wounds stayed open for three months. For three whole months I went to class with about an inch and a half of raw breast tissue open beneath my clothes. It hurt in every way imaginable.
In the end I was left with horrible scars and no relief from my gender dysphoria.
After consulting with my surgeon in September 2021, he agreed to a full mastectomy at a discounted price. At this point, crowd funding is my best bet at a better life.
