I am not a mountain climber.
In fact, if you asked my friends to describe me, they’d probably say I’m a 40-year-old takeaway lover who avoids walking anywhere… unless it’s to the pub.
But two years ago, I started coaching an amazing group of boys at Sundon Park Rangers... and everything changed.
I’ve watched them turn up in wind, rain, and freezing cold just for the chance to play. I’ve seen them fight through tough games, cheer each other on, and keep smiling no matter what the score. They’ve inspired me to be better, so now it’s my turn to show them what resilience looks like.
In November 2025, with no previous hiking experience, I’ll take on the Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge:
Pen Y Fan (South Wales)
Cadair Idris (Mid Wales)
Snowdon (North Wales – the tallest of them all)
All within 48 hours — 17 miles and 2200m of climbing.
I’m doing this to raise money so these 10 boys can go on their first football tour in summer 2026, an experience that will mean the world to them and give them memories for life.
Please donate whatever you can and share this with others. Every pound will help get these boys on that pitch.
And wish me luck… I’m off to buy some walking boots!
