Every year do my best to help animals that have been abandon with health issues, who have no hope otherwise.
As an animal lover, I do my best to try to make a difference, even if it's only for a few deserving animals at a time. So far, with the help of my friends, together we have saved, taken care of health needs and found homes for seven dogs and one cat in two years.
Today I received a call about Brownie, she's a really sweet and loving four-year old terrier mix. Her owner took her to the Vet and left her overnight because she was ill and never returned to get her.
Before she was put down by her Vet, we rescued her, she's now at our local pet hospital under the care of a specialist.
Brownie has tumor in her stomach. She is not eating. She had blood work done and an abdominal ultrasound and she now requires surgery. A pathology report will tell us if it's cancer or not and if kemo will be required. The animal hospital can't be sure until they operate and do further testing.
The hospital estimate to take care of Brownie is $2,500 to $4,000, they always give a range, so there are no surprises.
If I can't raise the money, I don't want to even consider the other option.
The goal is to get sweet Brownie well and find her a new forever home, where she is loved and cared for.
I know this is a lot of money to raise, so I'm starting the request for donations at $3,000. Brownie and I would grateful for any amount you can offer.
The funds for Brownie need to be raised fairly quickly as surgery is necessary early next week.
