Support Tim's Recovery

Tim has recently sustained a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a car the night of June 18th. After spending a week in the ICU, he has transferred to a rehab hospital to receive continued care, treatment, and rehabilitation. It is unknown exactly how long Tim will require treatment, but it may be weeks or even months due to the Traumatic Brain Injury that he has sustained.
If you know Tim, you already know that he is one of the good ones. Professionally, Tim is a Program Specialist at San Antonio ISD where he oversees a self-contained behavior support classroom at the elementary level. He works daily with youth who have emotional disturbance, ADHD, autism etc., and he is excellent at his work. Tim works tirelessly as an educator and advocate for his students, and has created a number of innovative programs and interventions within his school and district. He is well-loved by his colleagues and students alike.
Not only does Tim do exceptional work at his job, but he also helps others in his spare time. He spends time each week driving to Austin to teach improv to homeless youth, and to support weekly improv classes for neurodivergent youth. He is also an excellent classmate to his fellow improv students at the Hideout, and is a great friend to everyone who knows him.
The medical costs continue to add up while Tim is receiving treatment, and the cost of this injury are significant. Tim will require significant inpatient rehab, and will continue needing outpatient treatment for some time after he discharges. Like many Traumatic Brain Injuries, it is challenging to predict the exact treatment trajectory during this acute phase. But, regardless, meeting the cost of insurance deductibles, ancillary medical costs, loss of income, and other costs continue to add up. It is anticipated that Tim will eventually discharge into a family member's home for continued support until he is able to return back to his own home and the life he loves.
