Our Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Patti Madormo, has been teaching at St. Vincent Ferrer School in River Forest, IL since August 15,  2003.   She loves being part of our school and parish and puts her heart and soul into teaching our children at an early age.  In her own words: "I believe Kindergarten is a crucial year to a child’s learning because building a child’s foundation is critical in creating a confident, successful learner.  I also believe in educating the whole child–socially, intellectually, emotionally, and physically, through play."

"My goal is to create a warm, positive, nurturing environment in which each child can grow at his/her own pace and love to come to school.  In addition to teaching the full day Kindergarten, I am also the Early Childhood Unit Leader as well as the assistant principal."

For 14 school years, Patti has created a warm, positive nurturing environment for each child and has had an amazing impact on our school.  Her dream for the coming year is "to add a STEM program to our kindergarten curriculum.  STEM focuses on teaching hands on science, technology, engineering and math with creative problem solving for real world challenges.  I would love to be able to purchase a complete classroom curriculum kit with all the materials needed to give my students the skills they need to get ahead in these subject areas.  Adding this to our curriculum will enhance our learning at a very young age.  It would be great if we could purchase the STEM program this summer."
