Aidan Ewashko will be 3 years old on June 8. He is the son of Julie and Dennis and has one sister, Miranda, 1.
Aidan has complex medical needs. His diagnoses include mixed cerebral palsy quadriplegia, moderate cortical visual impairment (i.e. he is legally blind), and severe delays in motor and communication skills. He also suffers from seizures.
Aidan’s journey has involved various therapies, starting with hyperbaric oxygen treatments at six weeks old.
He is currently receiving Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) and Advanced Bio-mechanical Rehabilitation (ABR), largely provided by his mom at home.
MNRI is a collection of therapeutic protocols that support primary movement programs that are initiated by primitive or primary reflexes. Each reflex presents itself at a different time of development and is scheduled to mature and integrate into the brain and body system at a later time. http://masgutovamethod.com/
ABR is a hands-on method of manual applications to the child’s body, based purely on biomechanical principles. It improves musculoskeletal structure, including fascia, so significantly that normal motor functions recover spontaneously, making special training and management for "motor disabled" unnecessary. http://abramericas.com
Aidan’s family invites your contribution towards their attendance at a MNRI Family Conference in Bloomington, Minnesota (June 22 – July 1).
The conference, currently unavailable in Canada, will enable Aidan to experience intensive therapy in reflex integration, and Julie will receive training to administer the therapy at home. The total cost with travel is approximately $16,000.
They also invite your support so Aidan can continue to be part of the ABR family.
The ABR Thrive & Flourish program begins August 24 – 26 in Toronto where Aidan will receive treatment in new techniques and his mom will learn them for use at home. The total cost with travel is approximately $5,000.
Through donations from family, friends, the CP Association of Alberta, Camrose Resort Casino and Beaver County staff and Council members, $7,400 has been raised so far.
We thank you in advance.
