Wells Family Fire Relief Fund
My father could not sleep. He was so restless. My mother was wide awake as per usual and it was already 2:30am. A pungent odor filled the air as a loud cracking pierced the silence. That’s when an ominous orange glow came through their window. She threw her phone and tore out of bed with my father. They raced across the hall and while my mother grabbed my little brother from his bed, my father barged into my sisters room screaming for my sister, her husband, son (6) and babygirl (2) to get out of the house. Their window was already burning and just as they reached the stairs to descend, the window above my sisters family bed blew in. They reached the bottom of the stairs to see that the dining room to their left was already in flames and the kitchen in front of them was being taken over by fire as well. My sister looked back as she exited to see the kitchen become engulfed. Seconds after everyone was out of the burning house, the fire flashed and my mother’s bedroom crashed down into the lower level of the house, the family room, where they had just raced through to narrowly escape with nothing but the clothes on their backs. My brother-in-law not realizing that had occurred, wanted to go in to save their tiny dog but my sister refused to let him go. That’s when the grill’s propane tank blew instantly killing their big dog in the backyard. The entire house burst into flames at that point and it was all gone in a matter of 2-3 minutes.
Any assistance you’re able to offer is greatly needed and appreciated.
