Although we wish we were celebrating Justin Moc’s promotion at the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, we all know that at times life isn’t fair. It’s not fair that Justin saw only 23 years of life. In that short time, Justin demonstrated his love for his family, and his extended park family. We are able to witness the influence of Justin’s strong family foundation by his interaction with brothers Kyle, Kingston and Wyatt in County Recreation. It’s not fair that Justin wasn’t able to live long enough to see his own children after showing so much innovation, energy and caring for other people’s children.
Ever filled with get-up-and-go, Justin always sparked a positive feeling with both park patrons and fellow staff. His positivity made even the difficult tasks worth finishing with camaraderie, humor and purpose. Finally, it’s not fair that our parks will be without Justin’s energy, dedication and humor. Things won’t ever be the same, yet we can all channel some Justin to keep a happy heart in our work knowing that it benefits our community.
