We are sponsoring an Afghan refugee family via the International Rescue Committee (IRC), and they will be arriving in the Bay Area on February 1! There are two ways you can help:
1. We have a registry at https://goo.gl/xfxeqH where supporters can purchase many of the items the family will need to set up their new home.
2. We also need some direct funding for the following expenses:
$1,875 - rent subsidy for their first 6 months in the US
$1,000 - furniture items too large to purchase via the registry: bed frame (we have already had a mattress donated!), couch, table, and chairs
$125 - GoFundMe's processing fees
No amount is too small - it all adds up and makes a difference! Any funding we raise beyond our target will go towards buying any unpurchased registry items, and any funding beyond fulfilling the registry we will donate directly to the IRC.
Lastly, if you have any of the large furniture items listed above available to donate directly, please send me a private message so we can make arrangements.
