Hi, this is for a vet bill I got for $10,000 from Canine Parvovirus. I am a from the animal shelter, was abandoned on the side of the road with 2 sisters who are no longer with us. The staff at the shelter were wonder full people, but one day this lady came to meet me.
She wanted to take me home with her! A whole new place full of smells and adventures.
However, all was not well and shortly after I got to this "forever home" I started losing weight. I was at 22lbs, but got real sick to the point I could not eat and went down to 12 pounds. I was so dehydrated no matter how much water I drank, I could not keep it inside me. After a few days, I felt even worse, and my new parents drove me to the emergency clinic. The vets there said if I had not gotten in sooner, I may have died. Apparently it happens at shelters where so many dogs are around.
I overheard from the vet talking to my parents that it was real "touch and go," whatever that means. When I was cleared to go home, I to keep taking my medicine for my Parvovirus, Neutropenia, Severe ileus:
Metoclopramide
Cisapride
Capromorelin
Metronidazole
Amoxi/Clav
Proviable Kit
Probiotic capsule
Panacur Granules
It was exhausting keeping up with all this! I still have issues with excess water in my poop (diarrhea) but I am pretty good at making it to the door and letting my new parents know I have to get outside fast!
It has been worth it as I am back to a healthy weight for my age and breed (I am 4 months into this world now). I go next week to get my inoculations and something I hear in hushed tones "neutering."
I don't understand all of it, but it cost over $10,000 to survive. I know my family had to sell some stuff to afford it, so I was hoping if any of you can help out.
Thanks you for your time and if you can help out in any way by donating to this, we would truly appreciate it.
