Do you feel overwhelmed by the chaos of the modern world? Well, you could always start an all-male podcast about world politics, but we hear the market is kind of oversaturated so let us invite you to be part of a passion project a loooong time in the making!

Once upon a time, or more like eight years ago, Noah, the writer/director of this project, had an idea for a film titled “Welcome to Playground Earth!” and over the years he just kept developing it because it truly was like nothing he had seen before. Frustrated by the divisive nature of modern political discourse in society, he increasingly felt the need to break through the never-ending circles of arguing by looking at things from a different perspective. A more…alien perspective!

“Welcome to Playground Earth!” is a satirical advertisement for a journey to Planet Earth that’s being broadcast on a different planet. It leads us to question everything we know, and, in the process, we find new appreciation for the world we live in, from the magnificence of nature to human ingenuity. The film dives into darker territory as we explore subjects like wealth inequality, racism, sexism, war and climate change, plunging into the most pressing issues of our time.

Over 120 hand drawn storyboards have been created for the film.

We all know that annoying feeling when you had an argument, and you just couldn’t quite find the right words to say what you wanted to say. This film aims to express the things you’ve been struggling to get out there and everything that makes your mind whirl when you watch the world fall apart on the 8pm news.

In around 20 minutes, we move from story to story. A cotton picker gets trapped in a shopping bag, a gathering on a basketball court is interrupted by police violence and in the white house, new tax breaks for the rich are being celebrated with champagne. We quickly move through different styles, genres and moods.

It’s like going on a roller coaster at the Oktoberfest – except you won’t throw up on your mate’s brand-new lederhosen.

Inspired by classic satires like “Dr. Strangelove” and “The Great Dictator” and comedic filmmakers like Wes Anderson and Billy Wilder, we use the most powerful tool to combat darkness – humor!

Since this project is like no other, the process of making it isn't exactly conventional either. Instead of having just one cinematographer or one production designer, we have many talented people each working on a different part of the film. Bringing together the creative minds of over 30 students from film, fashion, visual effects and animation, "Welcome to Playground Earth!" is made by the people and for the people. This film doesn't just aim to unite audiences around the world, the project itself is about a collaborative act of resistance experienced by as many people as possible. And the best thing yet: we want YOU to be part of it. You're not just a name in the credits, as a pledger you play a significant role in making it all happen!
