As we welcomed all our children back yesterday we were unexpectedly hit by a burst water pipe which caused flooding and significant damage to the Nursery class. We are so grateful to staff, children and parents for being so understanding and patient whilst we relocated Nursery to a temporary class in the art room.
As a result of the flooding, we have had to dispose of essential resources, including our main class bug carpet worth £500 alone, which is used daily for group learning, story time and routines. A number of toys and wooden learning resources were also damaged beyond repair. In addition, there are unplanned maintenance and repair costs associated with the incident.
Unfortunately, schools do not hold contingency funds for unexpected incidents of this nature. Any costs incurred must be met from already stretched budgets, which directly impacts classroom provision.
This fundraiser will support:
- Replacement of the Nursery class carpet
- Replacement of damaged toys and wooden learning resources
- Contribution towards essential maintenance and repair costs
Any donation, large or small, would be greatly appreciated and will go directly towards restoring a safe, functional and well-resourced Nursery environment.
Thank you for your support.
