WELCOME HOME BOBBY AFTER 29 YEARS
Donation protected
On September 16th, after serving 29 years, Robert (“Bobby”) Ehrenberg finally came home at the age of 62 years old! Bobby originally received a 50 years-to-life sentence of imprisonment that left no room for redemption and effectively condemned him to perish in prison. However, in 2020, Bobby applied for executive clemency, and in August 2021, Governor Cuomo’s office commuted his sentence. We are overjoyed for Bobby’s freedom and are hoping to gather as many donations as possible to support him as he gets on his feet after three decades of incarceration. Bobby has secured housing, but he is in need of resources for transportation, clothing, food, medication, and other basic necessities.
During his incarceration, Bobby became a mainstay for other incarcerated individuals by devoting countless hours to teaching, mentoring, developing course programs, and promoting higher education for all. He has collaborated with community organizations and published op-ed articles to push for the passage of key reforms that would benefit thousands of individuals in New York State prisons. He also spearheaded numerous fundraisers for virtuous causes, including scholarships for children with incarcerated parents, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and local animal rescue and sanctuary organizations. While incarcerated, Bobby earned an Associates of Arts Degree in Humanities from SUNY Sullivan and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Science from St. Thomas Aquinas College. He plans to pursue a Masters Degree and continue working to uplift himself and others on the outside.
Please help us share this fundraiser widely so we can reach our goal!
