Greg Steen is home!!! Greg was sentenced to LWOP in 2008 under the Washington 3 Strikes law. He was recently resentenced under SB 5164 and after serving over 13 years he was ordered released!!
Greg is an active member of the Black Prisoners’ Caucus and has been an integral part of T.E.A.C.H. (Taking Education and Creating History) at Clallam Bay. Greg is deeply involved in recovery and developed the Confronting Addiction class, which he facilitated to other prisoners. Greg is passionate about his recovery and being able to assist others in their own recovery journey. During his incarceration he earned his AA degree. He is continuing his education beginning Winter quarter with Seattle Central College to pursue Chemical Dependency certification.
Along with Greg’s desire to help folks who are struggling with addiction he has a goal of becoming one of the voices for Seattle’s hockey team the Seattle Kraken. This stems from his early years in the Seattle Hip Hop Scene as well as his years as a local on air radio personality which he calls his dream job. Greg has also taught yoga while in prison and has continued to connect with its community after his release. He wishes to lend his lived experience in the best way possible while getting to know his Grandkids and bettering his relationship with his adult children. He feels he has been given a second chance at life and plans to work hard to make every second that reality.
Supporting Greg means he can support himself as he transitions back into community and work toward reaching his goals! The funds raised will assist him with things like getting into permanent housing, having transportation, obtaining his driver’s license, provided him clothing and household needs, etc., and he will be able to purchase a laptop to continue his work in community and for school!
Thanks for your support!
