Hello Everyone,
I am Aaron Cervantez (Jocelyn's brother) and on behalf of the Welbers family I am asking for help from family and friends. On the evening of 2/25/21 Anton Welbers and Jocelyn Cervantez-Welbers home was devastatingly lost in a house fire. Fortunately they and their two children Owen (9), Isabel (7) and our cousin Leonides Ruiz all escaped the fire unscathed physically.
Unfortunately the emotional devastation from losing so many sentimental and personal belongings is going to take time to recover from. The homes bottom floor was ruined during the heroic efforts of the Mountain House Fire Department to save the home. The upstairs where their bedrooms are located were severely damaged by the smoke from the fire. Due to the damage they are not yet allowed to enter the home as it has been deemed unsafe. They literally left the home with the clothes on their back and nothing more. Even the kids distance learning materials were left behind in the home. This is where friends and family can help them find the best path to moving forward. They will be trying to find a place immediately for their family to call home. In the mean time these funds can help cover these types of expenses as they are currently staying in a hotel.
Thank you for everyone's thoughts and prayers during this difficult time for the family who lost so much. We appreciate everyone who have reached out to assist in helping them heal. We ask that as the family tries to determine what their next steps are that people please refrain from dropping off clothing and supplies at the home because they do not currently have a place to store them. They will need things in the coming days, but right now they need some time to navigate this unfortunate event. Thank you for your compassion and understanding.
