After over 20 years of feeding numerous feral cat colonies, the Tabor Sanctuary has now been established. Over 100 feral cats have been relocated to this safe and monitored environment to protect and feed them for the remainder of their lives. With additional necessary funds, they will be able to pay for food, medicine and other life-saving supplies for these innocent animals who will otherwise be left to suffer and die.
ANY amount helps! Even the smallest donations will make a significant impact on these cat's lives.
HISTORY OF THE TABOR SANCTUARY:
For over 20 years the Tabor's have been providing care for numerous feral cat colonies in the Charleston, SC area. This included daily feedings, 7 days per week; constant trappings to provide veterinarian services to each cat which included vaccinations, micro-chipping, spaying/neutering, and other routine care. Newborn kittens from these colonies have been successfully socialized and rehabilitated through a diverse foster care network and eventually adopted into forever homes. The Tabor's lifelong goal through TNR (Trap, Neuter & Return) was to eventually maintain non-breeding colonies where the cats would live for the remainder of their lives. Due to age and physical limitations that goal has had to be modified.
The Tabor Sanctuary, a multi-acre compound was designed and built in 2017, again, at the family's personal expense. Most of the cats from the feral colonies have now been trapped and relocated to the Sanctuary where they will reside for the remainder of their lives. Prior to entrance into the Sanctuary they receive routine medical examinations and treatment to ensure they are healthy, spayed/neutered; and micro-chipped.
WHY THEY NEED HELP:
Unfortunately, due to retirement, limited income, and physical restrictions, the feeding and care of the cats has now become an increasing challenge.
THIS IS IMPORTANT:
The Tabor family has dedicated their lives to these cats. They are not just abandoned strays, they are each unique and worthy of a safe and healthy life. They are cared for deeply.
HOW WILL YOUR DONATION HELP:
Just $5 can purchase 10 cans of food
$15 can purchase a medium sized bag of dry food
$25 can purchase 3-4 dozen cans of food
$100 can purchase enough food for a week
PLEASE share this effort with all your family members and friends. Contact everyone you know on social media and spread the word.
The Tabors are Angels in disguise. No other people have more tender loving hearts toward cats. They have done so very many things for these cats and it is now time to see if we can contribute and lessen the burden on them.
