Weigh Station Exhibit

In 2017, the Indiana State Police Museum received a grant from the Indiana Historical Society (IHS) to restore our 1950s weigh station. In 2020, an additional grant was awarded by IHS to help us create an exhibit within the restored weigh station. Our plan is to share the history of Motor Carrier Inspectors with our visitors and discuss the science behind Hoosier highways and the importance or roadway safety.

This immersive exhibit will include core samples from Indiana's highways and a scale interactive that will help guests understand how and why trucks are weighed. When guests venture inside the weigh station, they will take a step back in time and get a taste of what our weigh masters experienced when the division was first created.

The Indiana State Police Alliance is raising the remaining funds needed to help us complete our project. We're so close to our goal - with your donation, we can make it a reality.

More information about Indiana State Police Alliance Foundation: The Indiana State Police Alliance (ISPA) was established in 1974 as an association of Indiana State Police troopers with a focus toward promoting better law enforcement to the citizens of Indiana and gaining state-wide support for Indiana troopers. Since our humble beginning in 1974 our scope has broadened significantly. Today, the Alliance has expanded its responsibilities to include increased member benefits such as legal assistance, legislative lobbying, funeral support and survivor benefits.
