Hi, my name is Wade Haynes and I am a longtime friend of Matthew Wehmeyer and family as well as his coworker.

Unfortunately, Samantha and Matt recently contracted Covid-19. Sam was pregnant with Baby Ella and taken to the hospital so they could both be carefully watched. As Sam’s oxygen levels started to dip, doctors decided it would be best to act quickly. Sam had an emergency C-section to give Baby Ella her best chance at survival. She was born at 26wks and is currently in the NICU and intubated. Sam, as well, stays intubated in ICU at North Central Baptist. Matthew has used all of his vacation and sick days, so he’s on FMLA leave and not able to earn a paycheck at the moment.

Samantha is a talented photographer and since she can’t work, she also is not able to earn money for her family. As you can imagine, the medical bills are piling and the family could use all the help we can give.

I am asking all brothers and sisters in our law enforcement family to reach out and help Matthew and family in their time of need. We want Matthew to know that we have his back and that we take care of our own. Keep the Wehmeyer family in your prayers.

Loving God, I pray that you will comfort me in my suffering, lend skill to the hands of my healers, and bless the means used for my cure. Give me such confidence in the power of your grace, that even when I am afraid, I may put my whole trust in you; through our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen
