Here is an edited post from Patrick's Caring Bridge recent post by Elizabeth:
Many of you have walked on this cancer journey with us for almost 3 years and the amount of grace poured out on our family from so many of you has been immeasurable. Your prayers, meals and financial help have been what has sustained us in this long and very hard road. Thank you for lovingly coming alongside us over and over again. You have not grown weary in praying for us and I am soooo thankful!
Last week (March 6, 2019) Patrick had a PET scan to see if the new chemo he began in December was effective. Today (March 13th) we met with the doctors to go over the results. His oncologist was very concerned at the rate of growth to his "innumerable" tumors while he was on six rounds of chemo. They went over the next options. At one point in this journey we felt like there were many, today we were told there are only a few. Depending on which experimental treatment he can get he was told he had anywhere from six months to less than two years.
While Patrick is still able we would like them to have a family vacation. This is something they cannot afford on their own but with the help of family and friends we can make this happen.
Patrick has to travel to Palo Alto for each doctor appointment and treatment. Funds will also be used to help pay for gas for these appointments.
