Hi, my name is Emily, I am currently working alongside the non profit organisation WEHAF in Tanzania, Arusha. While being here, I am helping take care of the children suffering with malnutrition by giving the mothers vital nutrition information, supplements and also flours, baby formula and bottles which the mothers cannot afford. Through WEHAF, it is helping to give these children a better future as not only do they do this, they run a daycare to help teach the children and a mothers centre where they can start their own business to support themselves and their children. One of the vital things this foundation does is provide nutrition flour/ milk for the babies who can’t be breastfed due to the mothers suffering with HIV. Unfortunately they cannot buy this milk/ flour as retail pricing over here is quite expensive. WEHAF make their own flour from scratch which has been an incredible oppurtunity to work alongside with and see how they supplement the flour and grains. However, they have bought their own mill to produce the flour but need money for setting it up and buying electricity to run it and the labour as well to do so. Currently they are using someone else’s and this is not cost effective so using this platform I hope to raise £2,000 for WEHAF to use to continue making the flour. This also gives the chance for the children at having a better chance of a bright future health wise (mentally and physically), but also enabling them to be well enough to go to school and keep helping supporting the community.
