WeFreeStrings string/rhythm sextet -- Charles Burnham, Gwen Laster, Michael Wimberly, Alex Waterman, Ken Filiano and Melanie Dyer -- will embark on our first tour, August 12 through 15th, as part of a Denver Community Residency
Just got word that we were denied on an emergency grant request. We're short $1350 to fully cover accommodations and ground transportation.
Our project, supported with major grants from Chamber Music America, Bonfils-Stanton Foundation and the Colorado Black Arts Movement, is a series of 4 interactive community performances, free to the public in partnership with the Denver Public Library Blair Caldwell, Pauline Robinson and Ford-Warren branches, and Colorado Black Arts Movement at the Rachel Noel Community Arts School. We are bringing the music to under-served communities.
