Weeds Warriors

Kolston Weed is a silly 5 year old who has already been through so much in his short life.   He has craniosynostosis and was preparing to possibly undergo another surgery when he began having symptoms not usually cranio related.  Early morning of December 19 he was complaining of leg pain.  This went on throughout the morning and he was struggling with walking.  His mom,  Marcia took him to the hospital where they were admitted.  Numerous tests were run but the doctors could not figure out what was going on, all the while this poor baby was in so much pain. Christmas eve night he scared everyone when he aspirated and doctors were forced to intubate him.  They kept him sedated and comfortable and more tests finally came back leading doctors to the diagnosis of Guillain Barre Syndrome.  This is a rare auto immune disease for adults and even more rare for a child.   He has been receiving ivig treatment and steroids.  He remains on the ventilator with short periods of time breathing on his own to get his strength back up. He responds by squeezing hands but is still very weak and can't move his legs or arms.  His mom and dad are so ready to just hear his voice again, which will hopefully be in the next few days when they are able to take the tubes out. Koko has two older brothers and a younger brother.  Anyone that knows the Weeds knows they are not ones to ask for help, so we are setting up this fundraiser to help them with medical expenses for Kolston as well as just helping with the regular household finances of a family of 6 so that both Marcia and Jason can focus on helping Koko get better.  Any help is greatly appreciated!
