Wee Folk Farm Nurture and Nature Play School!

We are raising money to help with expenses to get the Play School’s doors open!!

It’s been a journey but we are at the finish line! It’s been a lot of hard work to build in these crazy times, but worth the wait and frustration. It is BEAUTIFUL!!, Inside and out! We are preparing to open the doors and are finally getting very excited!! With almost every turn of the project there were hurdles we had to overcome, but we did it! The reason for this fundraiser is to help us get over that finish line, that very last hurdle in the race. I hate to ask and wouldn’t if I wasn’t so afraid of losing it all. There are a few things left needed to open these doors to the children, families and community who have been waiting so patiently. As with many projects there are always last minute unexpected expenses.

The money will go towards:

1. Unexpected extra plumbing costs, such as two sinks I can’t use due to code and flanges, along with connections for all the sinks (11 in total), etc.

2. I need an ADA handrail and apparently it can’t be wood :( This is a big expense I wasn’t prepared for.

3. Staying on top of the bills that I am personally paying each month while the project is not done. The school’s mortgage is $3337.00 per month…if the school’s not open, there’s no income.

4. The final excavation of the ground - we need a path cleared from the building through woods to the new playground in order to open. We have a really good guy on hand for the task.

5. I have most fixtures as far as tables, chairs, and cute things I’ve acquired over the years for the classrooms, but do need some art and office supplies.

My daughter Mia and I run a nature-based daycare out of my home. I have been working with children for over 20 years and my daughter has worked with me for 4 years, but she has been around littles all her life. We both have a Director’s Certificate in Early Childcare. We are a nature-based daycare and preschool that is expanding and building a new school on the property. It is the most beautiful building and philosophy - teaching children outdoors through nature. Wee Folk Farm is a warm and relaxed environment where children come to learn about themselves, the earth, and the people and animals around them. Our main goal is to be a place where children feel safe and nurtured. When children feel calm and loved they are able to explore the world at their own pace. We provide positive interactions, surroundings, tools, and consistent guidance to help each individual child’s personality and creativity emerge.

The building will have 3 classrooms: an infant room, toddler room and a preschool upstairs with all qualified and really cool teaching staff. There will be summer forest camps for older children down by the lake and it will also act as a community center for families of the community, including workshops and classes for all, young and old. There are gardens, woodlands, A new huge play area and cute farm animals! (coming back soon!)
