For the month of July, a team of walking buddies will each be walking 200km or more to help raise much needed funds for Crumlin Children's Hospital, specifically for St Joseph's Ward. Have a read of Pauline's story below for more details. All donations are much appreciated xx
This is Pauline Cullen's story, a member of WEDFOY and a nurse on St Joseph's Ward: I was thrilled when Katie suggested raising funds for my ward -St Joseph’s in our lady’s childrens hospital crumlin, I’ve been there for “a few years now” and due to retire in June 2025. I’d love to leave something permanent behind. St Joseph’s primarily cares for children with spinal and limb deformities, orthopaedic traumas and children with bowel and liver disease. The timing couldn’t be better as we have just begun the process of creating 4 extra beds to help increase the number of spinal surgeries we do each week. This will help reduce the extensive waiting list. I would love our fundraiser to cover the cost of a couple of portable “obs trollies” which would have a machine bolted to it along with a thermometer. Anyone who works with me knows how precious these trollies are and how competitive we get when we have our hands on one. .
