በሃገራችን፡ “ሰርግና፡ ሞት፡ አንድ፡ ነው” ይባላል። በሞት፡ ሃዘንም፡ በጋብቻ፡ ሰርግም፡ እኩል፡ ቦታ፡ ይሰጣቸዋል። እኔ፡ ግን፡ ጋብቻ፡ ለሃገሬ፡ ከመስራት፡ እና፡ ከመሮጥ፡ የሚያሰናክለኝ፡ ብወልድ፡ ደግሞ፡ ፈሪ፡ ሆኜ፡ እንደ፡ ልቤ፡ እንዳልናገር፡ የሚያደርገኝ፡ ስለሚመስለኝ፡ ብቻ፡ ለዓመታት፡ ስሸሸው፡ ኖርያለሁ። አሁን፡ ግን፡ ግዜው፡ ሲገፋ ሃሳቤን፡ አስቀይሮኝ፡ ወደ፡ ትዳር፡ አለም፡ ልገባ፡ ነው። 

እድሜውን፡ ሙሉ፡ ስለ፡ ሃገርና፡ ስለ፡ ህዝብ፡ ብቻ፡ አስቦ፡ ለኖረ፡ ሰው፡ ምናልባት፡ ሃዘኑን፡ እንጂ፡ ሰርጉን፡ ብቻውን፡ ሊያደርገው፡ እንዴት፡ ይቻለው፡ ይሆን? ስለዚህም፡ እኔና፡ የህይወት-አጋሬ፡ የደስታችን፡ ተካፋይ፡ መሆን፡ ለምትሹ፡ ወዳጆቻችን፡ ሁሉ፡ በመንፈስ፡ ከእኛ፡ ጋር፡ እንደምትሆኑ፡ በፅኑ፡ ልብ፡ በማመን፡ የሰርጋችን፡ ጥሪ፡ በያላችሁበት፡ ይድረሳችሁ፡ እንላለን።

ከቤተሰቦቻችንና፡ ከቅርብ፡ ጓደኞቻችን፡ አንስቶ፡ ለሰርጋችሁ፡ ምን፡ እናድርግላችሁ፡ እያላችሁ፡ የጠየቃችሁን፡ እና፡ ለማድረግም፡ ለምትሹ፡ ወዳጆቻችን፡ እና፡ አክባሪዎቻችን፡ ሁሉ፡ ለእኛ፡ ልታደርጉ፡ የምትፈልጉትን፡ ሁሉ፡ በጦርነቱ፡ ለተፈናቀሉና፡ ለተጎዱ፡ ወገኖቻችን፡ ድጋፍ፡ እንዲሆንልን፡ ስንል፡ የጎፈንድሚ፡ አካውንት፡ከፍተናልና፡ ድጋፋችሁን፡ እንድታሳዩንና፡ እንድትተባበሩን፡ ስንል፡ በኢትዮጽያዊ፡ እህታዊና፡ ወንድማዊ፡ ፍቅርና፡ አክብሮት፡ እንጠይቃችኋለን።
ይህንንም፡ ፈለግ፡ ሌሎች፡ ሰርገኞች፡ ሁሉ፡ እንዲከተሉት፡ የእግዚአብሔር፡ ፍቃድ፡ ይሁን።

ሰርግና፡ ሞት፡ አንድ፡ ነው። በደስታም፡ በሃዘንም፡ መረዳዳት፡ ኢትዮጵያዊው፡ ህይወታችን፡ ነው።

ምንም፡ እንኴን፡ በአሁኑ፡ ሰዓት፡ ሃገራችን፡ ምጥ፡ ላይ፡ ብትሆንም፡ እንድነቷንና፡ ሰላሟን፡ ወልዳ፡ ዳግም፡ ታላቅነቷን፡ እንደምትጎናፀፍ፡ ጥርጥር፡ የለንም። ሰርጋችንም፡ የነገዪቱ፡ ኢትዮጵያችን፡ አንዱ፡ የተስፋና፡ የብሩህ፡ ቀን፡ ምልክት፡ እንዲሆንልን፡ እንመኛለን።

Wedding Announcement & Charitable Donation In Lieu Of Wedding Gifts

 

There is an Ethiopian proverb that says: “A burial ceremony and a celebration of marriage are both the same.” Indicating the value of support in times of joy and sorrow.  

 

For someone like me who lived his entire life for the love of his country and its people, it’s unfathomable for me not to include you all in this wonderful event in my life.

 

I often think about all your blessings from your outpouring love and uplifting words throughout my life. Today I come before you to announce the joyous occasion that I have been putting off for a long time because of my devotion to art and activism through art. I have also delayed experiencing fatherhood thinking that it would make me fearful to freely express what I believe and stand for.

 

But the longer I have lived, and now that there is hope on the horizon for my beloved country, I have come to the realization that being married to art itself and activism through art shouldn’t hold me back from being married to the love of my life and someday becoming a father.
